Justin Baroncea has been working for 9 years at Barcelona and he learned the charm and the secrets of this place that he will reveal to us at the zeppelin from March.
Barcelona is one of the cities with the biggest density on inhabitants on km2 from Europe: 1.595.110 inhabitants, surface 101 km2, density 15.951 inhabitants/ km2. In the same time Bucharest has a density of 9.000 inhabitants/km2 and Vienna has around 3.850 inhabitants / km2. In the centre of Barcelona there has been left a few lands to be build on and also profitable for developers. During the real estate boom the firms specialized on the centre of Barcelona found a delf by investing in parasiting the existent buildings. On this premises, there has been founded the work methods with products derived from the old buildings rehabilitation: the consolidation of spontaneous extensions from ’60-’80 years, re-compartmentalizing of the buildings that don’t consume the total rate of occupation, reconversion of services spaces in houses on the basis of the same occupation rate. In this way appeared the first parasites that are playing with the normative on the buildings in the centre of Barcelona.
