a meeting up to the mark | design and architecture workshop & happy hours
A special zeppelin with two invitees from Japan: arch. Yasuhiro Yamashita (Tekuto workshop) and professor Riichi Miyake (Miyake Lab).
Born in Kagoshima (Japonia) in 1960, Yasuhiro Yamashita mixes the professional activity with teaching within the University from Tokyo and with research projects made in collaboration with professor Miyake from Keio University. In 1991 he founded the architecture studio Yamashita Kai Architecturual Office, renamed in 1995 Tekuto Workshop. Built in difficult contexts, projects that he works on are extremely adaptable and offer ingenious solutions that meet the brief in spite of numerous constraints. To the big number of very different individual houses, with an architecture often surprising and inserted in the most cases on very little plots, there are added the buildings ment for more extensive programmes as that for Busan Eco Center from Korea, 2007 and the projects of traditional Japanase buildings adapted to the most diverse contexts from different regions of the world (Ethiopia, Finland, France). At zeppelin 05, Yasuhiro Yamashita will tell about the Japanase way of work, about its experience and the projects that he worked on. Mr. Riichi Miyake is professor at Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University and he also participated at the restoration project of St. Nicholas Church from Balinesti.
