Arhitectura magazine and KLUDIstudio is inviting you at the second flight in zeppelin. Series of architecture events started in February continue with 2 conferences followed by a discussion. The theme of this edition: public buildings architecture and the big operations in urbanism and architecture.
How can we make a responsible and also spectacular architecture facing different interests, bureaucracy and budget difficulties? How can we control a delirious development like Romania experience in the present? Are the big projects only a professional, financial and administrative matter or also a mandatory subject for civil society?
The invitees of this edition will be arch. Pero Puljiz, partner at de Architekten Cie. (Holland) and arch. Eugen Panescu together with arch. Michael Buck, members of the Planwerk Cluj team.
de Architekten Cie. is an architecture office of international level, with an impressive of big projects, from houses complexes to offices, administrative and cultural buildings. Last year they won the contest organized for the extension of Victoria Palace, one of the rarely occasions when the assignation of an important work is made as it should be – through the decision of a jury and on a strictly professional criteria.
Planwerk was founded in 2002 with the purpose to bring a contribution at the urban development in Romania. Today, the office is run by the two of the six associates – arch. Michael Buck (graduate of HfbK Hamburg) and arch. Eugen Panescu (graduate of FAU Cluj). Planwerk team gather seven parteners, beside the two. The office is part of an international network of professionals specializing in architecture, urbanism and adjacent fields. Planwerk is the laureate of Architecture Biennial of Bucharest in 2002 and 2004 and the winner in both these events within the urbanism section.
zeppelin is a project of communication and education initiated by Arhitectura magazine. This project is an open platform of meetings where architects, designers and artists from abroad are invited to conference and to present their accomplishments to Romanian professionals. The purpose of the project is to discover and maintain an active elite of Romanian architects able to understand contemporary urban development strategies and to change the mentalities and architectural practices in Romania.
