Rosia Montana is on the final list of Europe’s 7 most endangered sites and monuments

Europa Nostra announced today, June 12th, 2013, in a press conference at the Athens office of the European Parliament, the final list of sites and monuments selected for the 7 Most Endangered advocacy and rescue programme initited earlier this year in partnership with the European Investment Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank.<\/p>\n

The Rosia Montana cultural landscape was selected in the final list, alongside the Roman amphitheatre in Durres (Albania), the historic centre of Nicosia (Cyprus), the Vauban fortifications of Briancon (France), the monastery of San Benedetto Po (Italy), the monastery of Setubal (Portugal) and the St. George Armenian church in Mardin (Turkey).<\/p>\n

More details on the 7 Most Endangered and on the importance of Rosia Montana being selected for the programme will be presented in the press conference Rosia Montana, o preocupare europeana \/ Rosia Montana, an European Concern. The press conference will be held on Thursday, June 13th, 10.30 a.m., at Carturesti Bookshop (13-15 Pictor Arthur Verona St).<\/p>\n
